National Library of Medicine and MEDLINE  (http://www.nlm.nih.gov )  The world's largest medical library. Medline, in particular, is a very impressive database of medical and psychiatric information and articles.

The Informant  (http://informant.dartmouth.edu) This service keeps an eye out for new web sites on subjects of your choice. It notifies you by e-mail so you can explore the new links. Try it with a new modality you're watching, or your family name, for that matter.

Newspage  (http://www.newspage.com) Customizable news service that includes categories of interest to therapists such as psychiatry, managed care, addiction. They will e-mail it to you, or you can visit your customized selections. Particularly good for keeping an eye on industries, because it's glutted with press releases.

Climate Help can now be downloaded for free." "Climate is essentially a computerized book containing something in the region of 200-300 screens of information covering the assessment, diagnosis and management of psychiatric illness. The assessment chapters contain flow charts for presenting problems and new cases, a problem screening checklist and about 30 screens on taking a psychiatric history and examining the mental state.  The diagnosis chapters give the clinical features and differential diagnosis for about 20 of the major ICD-10categories.   The management chapters provide essential information for patients and families; specific counseling for patients and families; and information on medication and when to seek a specialist opinion for each of the diagnostic categories."
